What Web3 Business Means to Me

What is Web3?

Web3 at the most basic level is the technology to connect to the blockchain. Ethereum is a blockchain, Etherscan is Web3. A metaverse becomes Web3 when it connects to a blockchain. NFTs are Web3 because they attach media assets or digital utilities to owners by using the blockchain.

 What is Web3 Community?

Web3 Community is the people that believe in Web3 technology but also the overall sense of decentralization. For me, Web3 community is different than NFT community or crypto communities because it does not center around the communal investment of money. Overlaps definitely exist because the use of Web3 technology can definitely impact the outcome of a NFT or Crypto project. However, although the focus on community can be present in Web3, NFTs, or crypto communities, it seems by focusing on the use of technology the focus of business and education can shine over the focus of hype and profit potential.

What is a Web3 Business?

A Web3 business is the intersection of Web3 technology, Web3 Community, and professional growth. A Web3 business uses web3 technology to better the overall growth of the intentions of the Web3 community. Generally a Web3 business is small business focused and allows the community to grow with it.

Being a small business is important because it better represents decentralization than corporations and venture capitalist back companies. To me, in decentralization, a local farmer selling corn for cash is more Web3 than Starbucks selling NFTs. In technology, Starbucks is more Web3. Web3 businesses are in between.

What is a Web3 Brand?

A Web3 brand is the imagery a Web3 business builds around its purpose. In this sense, an NFT Artist is a Web3 brand. A development company connecting people to blockchain is a Web3 brand. Web3 brands build Web3 business not only because they help the business, in theory, but also build the imagery that individuals and small groups can be professionally successful with the adoption of Web3 technology.

What Web3 Business Means to Me I am a single father who gets no help from the mother. I actually paid child support for 10 months while my son lived with me. I am well aware of the difficulties juggling quality parenting, limited time to work, and the balance of child care versus being at home. Web3 allows me the opportunity to build my own business online and own the payment methods. Web3 allows the nickels and dimes of time to work in my favor.

Being the owner of a business allows me to determine the deciding factors in its success. While competition and financial institutions are now the forces against me, at least the people within my own workplace are not limiting my growth.

Web3 Business is the different than NFTs and Crypto because it directly focuses on the utility and through decentralization builds up those that participate in it. Decentralization of governance happens with local governments, decentralization of commerce happens in small business, decentralization of resources and responsibilities happens within communities. Web3 is tech that allows these concepts to evolve. A Web3 business embellishes all of this. Web3 Businesses decentralize outcome.

The intention of my definition is not divisiveness. Many people find different purposes and connections in Web3 and Web3 tangent communities. However, I have defined Web3 Business this way because I have seen Web3 conflated with NFT and crypto and there is a reason Web2 companies use the term “digital collectibles”. To become more accepted by the general public, Web3 needs both simple applications but also legitimate branding. This is why Zentaurios was built and this is what Web3 business is to me.

Web3 Business is the emphasis on branding, decentralization, community, and small business through utilities and efforts that incorporate blockchain.**
