Motherhood is an incredibly fulfilling, yet busy job that requires women to juggle a variety of responsibilities. Adding marketing to the mix can seem overwhelming, especially if you're trying to stand out in a crowded market. However, successful marketing doesn't always require expensive campaigns. It's time to start thinking outside of the box and getting creative. As a mom myself, I know how challenging it can be to navigate the world of marketing, but with a little bit of effort, some automation and a couple fresh ideas, you can boost your brand and reach more customers. So, let's dive in and explore some unique marketing strategies that any mom can use to elevate her business.

Build an online community One of the best ways to get noticed in today's competitive market is by building a community of loyal customers who support and rave about your products or services. This is especially true for Web3 businesses as it is expected. To do this, invite your customers to join a private Facebook group, A Telegram Chat, a group chat on Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter or any other preferred platform, where they can connect with each other and with you. Share exclusive content, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and rewards for their involvement. Such a community not only helps you retain customers but can also attract potential ones.

Host a "mom's day out" event As a mom, we have access to many exclusive group outings in our local areas, we just have to look for them. These events allow us to connect with other moms, who may be interested in helping with the business or even potentially be customers themselves. You can also look at hosting your own event. Hosting a "mom's day out" event is an excellent way to get local moms to flock to your business. Plan a fun day where moms can come together and have a few hours to themselves, while enjoying your products or services. For example, if you own a salon, offer discounted haircuts, as well as free drinks and snacks. Additionally, request a renowned, inspiring speaker to give a brief talk that mothers can relate to, to truly make it a memorable experience. This is just one example of many types of events that can be hosted, depending on your industry.

Use Social Media effectively Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok and others are all great platforms for businesses, with some being more appropriate for marketing direct to moms than others. However, the key here is to focus on one (or two) platforms, while still creating a presence on all others. This allows us to connect direct with the community on our chosen platform(s), but also reach users of all the others as well. Using social media automation will help with achieving all of this, without the need to put countless hours into simply being present on all platforms. There are social media managers who will automate and post for you to all of them in one shot for the most part (such as Hootsuite) but they are expensive, running at around $99/month. Other cost effective choices are apps like:

  • Zealous (used to automate the audio of Twitter Spaces being pushed to podcast type platforms and/or turned into reusable audio and video content)

  • Zentaurios (this one is blog/SEO automation platform, but also posts the content it gets from its users to numerous social media platforms, helping to create an indirect audience)

  • Meta Business (used to post to Insta and FB together)

  • And so many others...

Personalize your packaging When selling your physical product to buyers, you might feel like you are limited in revealing your brand outside of the actual product. However, by customizing packaging with unique designs, quotes or messages, you create an authentic brand whose packaging is recognizable, to keep clients coming back. If you're selling a product that requires a box or some packaging, use it as an opportunity to create a lasting impression with customers by making the packaging special.

While it’s easy to get swept away with the idea that advertising only comes from deep pockets, small businesses and mothers can stand shoulder to shoulder with the big dogs by being creative. Getting noticed doesn't have to be expensive; all it takes is a bit of flair, some imagination and boldness to execute marketing ideas that guarantee to elevate your business. Using the clever marketing tactics discussed above, you will demonstrate your brand’s individuality and innovative spirit, while increasing your loyal customer base, and reducing your overall expenses – perhaps even freeing up some much-needed time for your kids. So, let's take our inspiration from the humorous, witty mindset of moms and have fun creating the craziest, wildest marketing campaigns, and watch as our business gets exploded in popularity.
