The CoWorker From India

There was a new guy at work. At first I thought, "He's not going to make it."

Instead of brushing him off, I showed him how I do things.

Eventually, he smiled. He understood. He thanked me.

 

Soon after, I got a promotion.

Soon after, he congratulated me. 

But today...today..he asked to take a picture with me.

I said yes.

I asked why.

He told me it was for his sons in India. 

 

That was when he taught me something.

This man was not lazy.

This man was not incapable.

This man moved half way across the world, learned English, and he did it to show his children what they can become.

But the lesson doesn't end there.

 

This man previously had told me that my personality and work ethic is very good.

This man knew what it takes to make a better life. And better lives after his.

I was trying to make mine better. 

 

He was new to English and didn't know the basic in's and out's of the job.

But I gave him the time.

And it changed everything.

For him and me. 

 

My challenge to you is that you do not give up on anyone before giving them the time to show themself.

That person might be exactly what you were trying to accomplish in the first place.
