Square Enix, renowned for developing the Final Fantasy game series, has announced the auction dates for its new blockchain game, Symbiogenesis, which features Ethereum-based nonfungible tokens (NFTs). The NFTs will be auctioned in three separate phases:
- First Phase (Nov. 27-28): This phase includes facet and mesh characters and is exclusive to early investors or "stakeholders."
- Second Phase (Nov. 30-Dec. 4): Participants in an "allowlist entry campaign" are eligible. This campaign involved quizzes and a treasure hunt within a prototype of the Symbiogenesis game world. The top 50 scorers and 40 randomly selected participants from 51st to 300th rank can acquire NFTs in this phase.
- Third Phase (Dec. 2-3): Open for the remaining participants to bid on items.
Symbiogenesis is described by Square Enix as a "narrative-unlocked NFT entertainment" game, with its launch slated for December 21, 2023. Square Enix's foray into the NFT space began earlier with the launch of Final Fantasy NFT trading cards and a partnership with Web3 infrastructure provider Elixir
