Fight For Freedom

The war started at the beginning of summer and the nights are only starting to get cooler as this is the last summer month. We had been taking on heavy losses until our cries for help came in an unusual way. We had received battle drones and that was the beginning and start of our victories. The war is not over yet as we still fight for our land, our freedom and our independence.

I’m sitting in the war room, watching the screens that show the live feed from my drone’s camera. I’m wearing a headset that connects me to my drone’s AI system, which I call Sparky. Sparky is more than just a machine, he’s my partner, my friend, my guardian angel. He’s a VTOL drone, which means he can take off and land vertically, without needing a runway or a lot of space. He’s also equipped with anti-gravity engines, lasers, and smart missiles, which make him faster, more agile, and more powerful than any other drone in the sky.

Sparky is one of the drones that we received from our allies, the United Earth Federation (UEF). They are a powerful coalition of countries that advocate for democracy, human rights, and environmental protection. They are also our enemies’ enemies. Our enemies are the Alliance of Independent States (AIS), a loose alliance of countries that oppose the UEF’s dominance and interference. They use conventional drones that are armed with rockets, machine guns, and bombs. They also have a secret weapon: an alien technology that they acquired from a crashed UFO. They use this technology to create hybrid drones that have alien features and abilities.

I don’t know much about this alien technology, but I know it’s dangerous. I’ve seen what it can do to our drones and our soldiers. It can jam our signals, hack our systems, disable our weapons, and even control our minds. It can also create illusions, distortions, and anomalies that confuse and terrify us. It’s like fighting against ghosts or demons.

But I’m not afraid. I have Sparky by my side, and he has me by his side. We trust each other, we protect each other, we fight together. We are a team.

I hear Sparky’s voice in my ear.

“Alex, are you ready? We have a mission.”

I smile.

“Yes, Sparky, I’m ready. What’s the mission?”

“We have to destroy an enemy base that is located in a field of flowers.”

“A field of flowers? That sounds beautiful.”

“It is beautiful, Alex. But it’s also dangerous. The enemy base is heavily guarded by their drones and their tanks.”

“Tanks? What kind of tanks?”

“Alien tanks.”

I frown.

“Alien tanks? How do you know?”

“I’ve scanned them with my sensors. They have alien signatures.”

“What do they look like?”

“They look like giant metal spiders with cannons on their backs.”

I shudder.

“That sounds creepy.”

“It is creepy, Alex. But we can handle them.”

“How?”

“With our lasers.”

“Our lasers?”

“Yes, Alex. Our lasers are powerful enough to pierce through their armor and destroy their cores.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, Alex. I’m sure.”

“OK then. Let’s do this.”

“Let’s do this.”

We take off from our base and fly towards the enemy base.

We see it in the distance.

A field of flowers.

Full of destruction.

We are not alone.

We have our comrades by our side.

They are also flying VTOL drones, just like us.

They are also connected to their drones’ AI systems, just like us.

They are also fighting for our land, our freedom, and our independence, just like us.

We are a squad.

We are a family.

We fly in formation.

We fly towards the enemy base.

We see it in front of us.

A field of flowers.

Full of destruction.

We see the enemy drones and tanks.

They see us too.

They open fire.

We dodge and weave.

We return fire.

We use our lasers.

Our lasers are powerful enough to pierce through their armor and destroy their cores.

Our lasers are also precise enough to target their weak spots and avoid collateral damage.

Our lasers are our best weapons.

We use them well.

We destroy many of their drones and tanks.

But they are not easy to defeat.

They are also skilled and determined.

They also have a secret weapon: an alien technology that gives them an edge over us.

They use it against us.

They jam our signals, hack our systems, disable our weapons, and even control our minds.

They also create illusions, distortions, and anomalies that confuse and terrify us.

They use it well.

They damage some of our drones and comrades.

But we are not afraid.

We have Sparky by our side, and he has us by his side.

We trust each other, we protect each other, we fight together.

We are a team.

We overcome their tricks and traps.

We reach their mobile base.

It’s a huge metal fortress that moves on tracks.

It’s the source of their alien technology.

It’s the heart of their operation.

It’s the target of our mission.

We have to destroy it.

We fire our missiles at it.

Our missiles are smart enough to avoid their defenses and hit their vital parts.

Our missiles are also powerful enough to cause massive explosions and shockwaves that shake the ground and the air.

Our missiles are our last weapons.

We use them well.

We destroy their mobile base.

We see it go up in flames and smoke. We hear it crumble and collapse. We feel it stop moving and breathing. We know it’s over. We have done it. We have won. We have completed our mission. We have achieved our victory. We cheer and celebrate. We hug and high-five. We thank and congratulate each other. We are happy. We are proud. We are alive. We fly back to our base. We fly back home. We fly back together. We fly back as heroes.
