In the thick of the bear, when established coins are at a low and NFTs even lower, Many have left the market altogether and smaller chains are struggling with volume overall. The only excitment you'll find is on ETH where memecoins are popping off and gas fees are through the roof.
or so one would think...
Except on Cronos, the flagship NFT Marketplace, Ebisu's Bay, recently dropped something that brings the chain to life again, maybe not in volume yet, but in overall morale and hope! The buzz has started, projects have begun making announcements of their involvement and support, some have even gone as far as rewriting their roadmap for it, alliances and collaborations have been quickly made and strategies formed.
I am talking about the recent presale of their token $FRTN, made only available to those who were holding an Ebisu's Bay NFT, to be used for the upcoming gamefication of their marketplace. They've created (still in early stages) a Risk style game (yes, similar to the beloved board game, but with their own twist) and integrated it with the use of and promotion of their marketplace.
The presale took place from Monday May 1st to the 7th and is now closed, with aproximately 55% of the 1% of total supply allocated for the presale sold! The remaining 45% of the presale allocation is to be divided between the holders of the NFTs that were dropped to the buyers of the token, based on the 5 different tiers of purchase. For example:
Decentral Mamas purchased 1000 tokens. We were immediately airdropped a common NFT, that granted us an additional drop (trickled over time) of approx 1300 tokens (based on numbers after presale was complete).
A couple others purchased 250K tokens, and will be receiving approximately 449K tokens airdropped, trickled in over time.
And there are 3 other tiers in between those two. You can view the document here with the breakdown that's been made public, provided by Zeus, the founder of Cronos Fox Fraternity.
The inital testing begins this coming Monday, where everyone who bought during the presale can participate. And tokens will be made available for public sale soon! Below are just some of the projects/communities that are getting involved:
So what IS the use of $FRTN, the Ryoshi Dynasties and how does it all work with the marketplace?
I would advise anyone and everyone to read the whitepaper provided by Ebisu's Bay as it goes into great detail of how all the tokens, and functions of the game and marketplace work together.
That being said, this image below also illustrates it very well.
Basically with the purchase of Fortune tokens, you get:
- Voting Power -- on your favorite factions and on the amount of rewards a voted faction can receive (for the NFT Holders of that faction)
- Ability to Assign Troops -- join forces with a faction
- Ability to Delegate Troops -- you can send your "mercenaries" to help the faction that makes the best offer for them
- Staking -- earn $Mitama, $FRTN and Troops
Also, as shown in the whitepaper and the image above, you have the opportunity to gain additional rewards through acquiring certain buildings within the game, as well as completing tasks and quests (reward is $Koban -- a token needed for the game play). The Ryoshi Tales NFTs (VIP & Holiday) act as additional boosters to APR as well.
But why are projects really getting excited about this game? Well because they not only have the option to stake to gain rewards for their holders, but they also have the opportunity to gain access to a Town Hall through game play and provide a staking option for holders of the designated NFT from their project. Also the (weekly and seasonal) winning projects can get priority listing and collection highlights on the Ebisu's Bay NFT marketplace, on top of possibly receiving rewards. And if that's not enough, it's a fantastic opportunity for them to create collaborations/alliances/partnerships with other projects on the chain.
As you can see, there are many moving parts to this and I likely haven't even touched them all. I highly recommend everyone give that whitepaper a read (if you haven't alread) as there are so many reasons to get excited and participate!
... so now the question remains ... Are YOU battle ready?
