The Timeless Village

There was once a village in the mountains, where the people lived in harmony with nature. They did not have clocks or calendars, nor did they care about hours or minutes. They followed the rhythm of the sun and the moon, the stars and the seasons. They knew when to sow and when to reap, when to rest and when to work, when to celebrate and when to mourn. They were happy and content, for they had everything they needed.

One day, a traveler came to the village. He was amazed by the beauty and simplicity of the place, but he was also puzzled by the lack of time. He asked the villagers how they managed their lives without knowing the exact time or date. The villagers smiled and said that they did not need such things, for they trusted their instincts and their observations. They said that time was only an illusion created by mankind, and that the only time that truly mattered was the time of the seasons for planting, caretaking and harvesting of crops.

The traveler was intrigued by this philosophy, but he also felt sorry for the villagers. He thought that they were missing out on the wonders of civilization, such as science, art, literature, and technology. He decided to share his knowledge with them, and to teach them how to measure time. He brought out a watch from his pocket, and showed it to the villagers. He explained how it worked, and how it divided the day into 24 hours, each hour into 60 minutes, and each minute into 60 seconds. He said that this was the standard way of keeping track of time in the world, and that it helped people to organize their activities, to communicate with each other, and to achieve their goals.

The villagers were curious about the watch, but they also felt confused by its complexity. They asked the traveler why he needed such a device, and what benefits it brought him. The traveler said that he needed it because he had many things to do in his life, and that he had to plan ahead and meet deadlines. He said that it helped him to be productive, efficient, and successful. He said that he traveled around the world, and that he saw many amazing things and met many interesting people.

The villagers listened to his stories, but they also felt uneasy by his lifestyle. They asked him if he was happy with his life, and if he had any regrets. The traveler paused for a moment, and then sighed. He said that he was not happy with his life, and that he had many regrets. He said that he was always busy, stressed, and tired. He said that he had no time to enjoy the beauty of nature, or to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. He said that he had no friends or family, or anyone who cared for him.

The villagers felt sorry for him, but they also felt grateful for their own lives. They thanked him for his visit, but they also declined his offer to teach them how to measure time. They said that they did not want to change their way of living, for they were happy and content with what they had. They said that they did not need a watch or a calendar, for they had their hearts and their eyes. They said that they did not care about hours or minutes, for they cared about seasons and cycles. They said that time was only an illusion created by mankind, and that the only time that truly mattered was the time of the seasons for planting, caretaking and harvesting of crops.

The traveler understood their choice, but he also felt sad for himself. He realized that he had wasted his life chasing after an illusion, and that he had missed out on what really mattered. He wished he could stay in the village and learn from them, but he knew it was too late for him. He packed his belongings and left the village, never to return.

The villagers waved goodbye to him, but they also felt happy for themselves. They continued their lives as before, following the rhythm of nature. They sowed and reaped, rested and worked, celebrated and mourned. They were happy and content, for they had everything they needed.
