Friendship and Support

Lena and Mia had been best friends since kindergarten. They shared everything: their dreams, their fears, their secrets, their hobbies. They were inseparable, like two peas in a pod.

One day, Lena received some bad news. Her father had been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He had to undergo surgery and chemotherapy, and the chances of survival were slim. Lena was devastated. She felt like her world was falling apart.

She called Mia and told her everything. Mia was shocked and saddened by the news. She wanted to be there for her friend, to comfort her, to support her, to help her. She said, "Lena, I'm so sorry. This is terrible. I'm here for you, okay? You're not alone. I'll do anything for you. Anything."

Lena thanked her and said, "Mia, you're the best friend I ever had. I don't know what I would do without you. You're my rock. You're my angel."

They cried together on the phone, and then Mia said, "Lena, I have an idea. Why don't we make something for your dad? Something to show him how much we love him and care for him. Something to give him hope and strength."

Lena liked the idea and asked, "What do you have in mind?"

Mia said, "Well, you know how we both love to draw and paint, right? Why don't we make a picture for him? A picture that expresses the idea of support. A picture that includes a support ribbon, two hands, and a red rose."

Lena smiled and said, "That sounds perfect. Let's do it."

They agreed to meet at Mia's house the next day and work on the picture. They gathered their art supplies and started to sketch and color. They chose a blue ribbon, the color of colon cancer awareness, and drew it around the hands and the rose. They made the hands look like they were holding each other, and the rose look like it was blooming. They wrote a message on the bottom of the picture: "We love you, Dad. You're not alone. You're our hero."

They finished the picture and admired their work. They were proud of what they had created. They hugged each other and said, "This is for you, Dad. We hope you like it."

They wrapped the picture in a gift box and took it to the hospital. They found Lena's dad in his room, lying on the bed, hooked to machines and tubes. He looked pale and weak, but he smiled when he saw them. He said, "Hey, girls. What a nice surprise. You came to visit me."

They said, "Hi, Dad. We have something for you. We made it for you. We hope it makes you happy."

They handed him the gift box and watched him open it. He took out the picture and looked at it. His eyes widened and filled with tears. He said, "Oh, girls. This is beautiful. This is amazing. This is the best gift I ever received. Thank you. Thank you so much."

He hugged them and kissed them and said, "I love you, girls. You're the best daughters I ever had. You're my rocks. You're my angels."

They cried together and said, "We love you, Dad. You're not alone. You're our hero."

They hung the picture on the wall, next to his bed. They stayed with him and talked to him and laughed with him. They felt a bond of friendship and support that was stronger than ever. They felt a hope and a faith that was brighter than ever.

They knew that no matter what happened, they would always be there for each other. They knew that no matter what happened, they would always be friends.
